Lots of new stuff this week
LockedWell, we are rolling out 3 new features this week, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up.
1. New site header
We are adding many of the new Community features to the site header. Right now, most of our new stuff is hidden within community. We want to get the word out by making these options accessible everywhere. Here is a link to the header:

We are building a blogs door which will highlight blogs and bloggers. Some of the views will include newest blogs, most popular blogs, blog posts from my contacts and a featured blog section.3. Links feature
We are also launching an entirely new feature called “Links.” It combines the functionality of our old “Favorites” feature with all of the new tagging stuff. So you will have a links tab that will allow you to bookmark both internal items (articles, discussion posts, blogs, etc) and external items.
When you add a link to your collection, you get the opportunity to add a description and tags to it. The tags will allow everyone’s bookmarks to get grouped together, so when you are looking for resources around “vpn”, you can find everyone’s links in a single view.
We think this will helpful to each individual member because you will have a web-based bookmarks list that is accessible from any PC with an internet connection.
We think it will be useful to the community at large because we will have a knowledge base of resources that are filtered through the collective wisdom of our members. We think the added context will eventually make the links search functionality more targeted and useful than a basic Google search because actual IT pros have selected this stuff, not a spider or crawler.
We are also providing a little browser widget (a link, really) that you can drag to your browser’s Links bar that will allow you to add links to your TR page from anywhere on the web.
So if you are on the Microsoft website and find an interesting article, you will be able to click the “Add to TR links” link in your browser and quickly add it to your collection.
Whew! I think that covers everything we’re doing this week. If you have any questions, please let me know.
