Mac Problem, fonts preventing office for mac's 2004 from loading

By mjwx ·
Every time the user starts word, excel ETC... It comes up with this error message (entourage is not affected).

?The font <insert font here> is corrupt and should be removed.?

This happens for all 200 odd fonts (have to force quit). User is using office for Mac?s 2004. No other programs are affected. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a sneaking suspicion I will have to put this problem under BMS (Bloody MicroSoft).

Thanks in advance
Mike

I have exactly the same problem - only now, all the Office
programs are 'not responding'. I reinstalled everything except
entourage, because I still have all my emails in it, and that did no
good, so I'm totally stuck!!!

I had the same problem, too. This fixed it.

I ran the "Remove Office" utility found in the Applications|MicroSoft Office 2004|Additional Tools folder. Select the version(s) of Office you want to remove, including the fonts and preferences. The utility will not remove your MicroSoft User Data folder in your Home|Documents folder, so your email will be safe. Reinstall Office and the problem should go away. It's pretty easy to do. Good luck.

This solution is too drastic and could be the answer to any and all corruption issues; "delete all files and reinstall". The real simple answer is delete FontCacheTool from Microsoft Office 2004 / Office / Support Files.
