Mail Delivery between EX 5.5 and EX 2000

Our organization is currently running in a mixed Exchange mode of 2000 and 5.5. To allow the 5.5 users to communicate with the 2000 users, we have created distribution lists in 2000 and then created smtp links in the 5.5 (show as globes in the 5.5 global address list) to allow the 5.5 users to send mail to the EX 2000 distribution lists. We are using a dedicated “bridgehead” server to move the mail between the two environments. Our problem is – when these ditribution lists are used by the 5.5 users, the mail does NOT always get to the 2000 users. We have ruled out any message limits problems etc. and have worked with MS – to NO avail.
