Mail migration through prf files ?

I have a customer moving from a non-Exchange to Exchange server.
All the clients are already Outlook 2000 and store their mails in a local PST file.
No mail is stored on the server unless the user has not logged on.

They now want to replace their current system with Exchange but keep the clients functioning the way they are.

Rather than run around all the workstations modifying the serverdetails (and change of e-mailaddress) manually, I would like to script the changes in the users’ loginscript.

I have been looking at the option of using a PRF file for Outlook 2000 but am not sure whether this is an efficient route and how it is best approached.

Any guidance is welcome.
