Mailbox Quota Limits

When I enable mailbox quota limits my users loose messages whether I configure the storage limits to "prohibit send and receive" or "issue a warning".
The Outlook 2003 client has POP and SMTP configured.
Exchange 2003 Enterprise server does not have the POP3 service enabled and it is not configured to foward any unresolved messages.

I've checked the queue and still can't find the message.

Anyone with ideas?

I think you need to so some controlled tests. Setup a new Storage group, and put a single store in it with a single user, and then set your limits.

I can understand why people might think they are losing email if you configure a send/receive limit, because they won't receive new mail. It gets NDR'ed not queued.

However for the warning limit, that message is just that - a warning. It doesn't affect the ability to send/receive mail, unless you have the limits close together, eg a warning at 8 Mb, prohibit send/receive at 10Mb, if someone then sends a 3 Mb mail it will be NDR'ed.
