Can anyone explain to me how to make batch files?

More importantly; making unattend installs.

Depends on the type of install you want to do.

Batch files are pretty easy, just list your commands one after another in a text file. In windows, give it a .bat extension, in linux give it execute permissions.

In windows, if you want the syntax for special batch file commands, do a search on google. One of the pages I found that seems pretty good is at http://www.labmice. net/articles/batchcmds.htm (be sure to delete the extra space in the URL).

If you want to do an unnattended install of Windows 2000, I recommend either using a ghost image, or using Remote Installation Services (RIS) which you can learn all about on the Microsoft web site. I use RIS for my workstations.
