Making hotmail my defualt email

When I try to scan to email, I keep getting error asying cannot find the server. I don’t know how to configure this system to automatically send email through hotmail.I have it set in internet options but the viewer on my scanner does not have hotmail listed in the scroll down choices. There is Netscape and Outlook. Niether of which I ever use. I am using Explorer6.0. HPXL916, 256 MB DIMM, 850 MHz.
