Seems as though our IT department personnel moral has sunken to dangerously low levels, and our managers don’t seem to care. Don’t get me wrong – every department has it ups and downs – but it seems this “down” is really down. There are ProgrammerAnalyst over-worked and under-appreciated. One of them actually walked out the door at 10:00 in the morning and didn’t come back for two days because she was fed up. Network Admins who are doing support for applications – not maintaining the servers due to time constraints, etc. Internal candidates who are qualified for advancement inside of the department but are not even considered for promotion – external candidates are being hired. It’s one thing to get an interview and be passed up foranother applicant, but not even getting an interview hurts. Our CIO and department manager have resigned and there is a search for a new CIO starting now. (Would kind of hate to be that person) In my opinion, it seems our managers are “dropping the ball”. No support for the employees beneath them, upper management that likes to turn their heads the other way and not do anything about it. Anybody have some suggestions on what to do – besides get the hell out of here.
