Maping a network drive using schedule

By leandro.guimaraes ·
I am trying map a network drive using a CMD file, but when I try to do this the service has no rights to do this. How can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!!

create a bat file, filename.bat

Edit the bat file to include the line

net use drive letter: \\server\sharename password /USER:[domainname\]username

Then use the scheduler to run that program.

If you are just looking to have the drive mapped when they boot up. Put it in the start up folder, or make an entry in the registry under hklm/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run

BTW- that location is also notorius for virus's to hang out. I check that location often to make surenothing funky is running. There is really no need for anything really to be in there except for the default null key.

Log the User In

Log the User in so that Mapped Drives will be in affect then use a screen saver with Password. I would recommend on a W2K Pro or WinXPPro system for this.

Or use UNC for everything if possible which does not require mapping.
