Mapped drive wont reconnect on login

By jeff.wsce ·
I have a SCO Unix server that I have mapped using its IP address as a network drive on Windows XP machines. The problem I have is that when ever I reboot or relogin, it doesnt reconnect the mapped drive. I have to go into explorer and login into the drive seperately in order to get it to reconnect. The security setting are set to send an unencrypted password. This is only on the WinXP machines that connect. On Win2KPro machines, I have to enter my password twice on login, which isnt ideal either, but its better than the above problem. Any suggestions?

Did you try setting these drives up using a command line or by right clicking My computer or My network places?
Try mapping from a command line and adding "/persistent:yes" to the command.

I have done both..i used "NET USE U:\\UNIX IP ADDRESS /PERSISTENT:YES" and did it through my computer. Same result with both options.
