General discussion

What a bogus statement for TechRepublic! When I signed up for a TechRepublic account today, I specifically unchecked the box indicating I wished to receive marketing materials. However in minutes I received my first marketing email from them already! At the bottom of the email it states: "You expressed interest in receiving periodic updates and information from TechRepublic when you became a TechRepublic member."

This is a total lie! If anything I expressed internet in NOT receiving this information!!!

This is very sad.

Teething pains

by j.lupo In reply to Marketing

Do not feel bad. There have been quite a few problems lately because TR is updating and improving the site. A few glitches have been occuring. Be patient, browse the site, enjoy all the information. The people have a lot to say on a lot of things, but I have found it rewarding being here since 2001.

Good Luck.

Probably a welcome

by Oz_Media In reply to Marketing

You may not actually be subscribed to anything but their welcome mail needs revising, as is often the case when updating piece by piece.

TR has never flooded me with junk, I have never received third party spam (I use a BS online acocunt though to keep it all away from my home e-mail inbox).

But if you're really pissed, let them know.

There is a HELP link up top with all kinds of addy's you can send to depending on the issue.

There is also a discussion forum JUST for TR site feedback and they visit these forums quite often.

It's an invaluable peer resource though in the long run.
