Marketing Of Your Training / Seminars

By tim ·
I am looking for input on marketing of my training services. Specifically, how do you get the word out that you are putting on a training class?

I have found a few PC classroom companies that will do the registration, certificates and other administrative work but I need to find someone that will do the up front job of marketing and filling the seats.

How do you independent trainers get the job done?

Thanks for any and all input.

1) Buy a display ad in the local daily or weekly rags.
2) Go to local computer stores and ask to put up flyers or business-cards on bulletin boards.
3) Contact nonprofit and volunteer organizations and offer to let their members attend your training at a nonprofit discount in exchange for advertising in their newsletters or on their Web site.
4) Put it on your Web site.
5) Write a press release and send copies to to the local papers and newspapers.
6) When you *do* a session, give all those people extra business cards and offer them "bird-dog" fees or rewards for recommending you to other people - rewards like discounts on future training.
7) Contact all the temp/perm placement services and offer a discount to their customers and/or their workers.
