Mass remove of Exchange mailboxes

By tstranathan ·
I am removing multiple users from an NT4.0 Domain. I wrote a batch file to remove the users and their files. Is their a way to remove multiple mailboxes from a MSX 5.5 Server using a batch file? I would prefer not to use a third party utility.

I'd recommedn that you do that through Exchange System Manager, so that you can clean the Distribution Lists afterwards. Otherwise, your GAL is going to have a number of addresses listed which will generate error messages back to the end users.

I know that I have used Hyena in the past to assist with this activity in NT 4.0 environments.

I had 300 users to remove from a MSX population of about 2500. MSX manager or Hyena would work but it would have taken a lot of time to find and remove each user. I found and used the MSX IMPORT function, from a batch file, to remove all the users within a few minutes. Lists were not a concurn.

sometimes simple is best. You could do a 100 users in a couple minutes. Just multi-select in the recipients container and hit delete.
