MAster browser announce parameter

would like to know where I can check this in the win98 registery since remote site cannot see the clients in the network neighborhood

I have found that the problem you desricbed isn't because of the parameter (which can be accessed by using the control panel, Network, file and printer sharing, Browse Master or LM Announce) but because NetBEUI is not installed on the workstation and/or the server.

Broadcast traffic by default will not cross routers. In order for remote sites to see Network Neighborhood resources, you must either have a WINS server or install LMHOSTS files on your remote clients.

FYI: NetBEUI will not cross routers.
