Maximum incoming network connections

By Luke44 ·
What is the maximum number of incoming network connections (through tcp/ip) that are allowed to a share on a win 95 computer and how can this value be increased? What is the corresponding value for a win 98 computer?

Win 95 and 98 both have a limit of 98 WINSOCK connections at any one time. The actual number of users is not a factor. If you are truly coming in on TCP/IP this is the limiting factor. There is no way to increase these values. WinNT will allow upto around 700 and WIN2k will allow over 1000, but again these values are not changable. Note that a single user will consume more than a single WINSOCK connection.
