Merge Access Project with Word XP

By Ines ·
Hi,

because i want to learn more about Office Applications, i made a database in Access Project. Now i want to merge it with Word, but with the Merge Wizard i can only connect tables and merge only data from one table. As i need data from more then one table, i would like to import from a query or form. Could somebody tell me, how to do this? I know nothing about VBA, but would like to learn.

Thanks
Ines

Set up your merge document. Go to Tools>Letters and Mailings>Mail Merge Wizard.
Create a query in Access that selects the data items from the tables.
Go to Word.
Choose Letters on the Mail Merge pane and click next at the bottom of the pane. Use current document - Next. Choose Browse under Use existing list.
Locate your Access database and open it.
When the Select Table box opens, you'll see all of the Tables AND Queries associated with that db.

Thanks for your answer.
Maybe my question was not clear enough about this: i want to merge an Access Data Project (adp) with Word.
I can merge tables or queries from Access files (mdb) using the Merge Wizard without problems. But once i choseADP as data source, i am only able to choose tables, no queries.

Take another look. After I select my Data Source. When I get to the Choose Data step in the Data Connection Wizard, I'm presented with a list of all of the Tables AND Queries in the db.(There is a check box that says connect to a specific "table", but the list includes both.)
I like to use Hungarian notation and prefix tables with tbl queries with qry to make it easier in situations like this.

Hello,

i can assure you that i looked four times, before i send you the first answer and now i did it again. With my ordinary Access Data (mdb) i have no problem to choose tables or queries, but with my Access Project (adp)!, the wizard just won't show me anything besides tables, so no way for me to choose a function or stored procedure (sorry, i think before i talked about queries). I found two article (one on the MSDN-Library-DVD), where they mention - using Access Project - it is only possible to merge tables.
I just hoped there might be some VBA solution.

By the way i named all my tables with tbl* and my function fun* and stored procedure stp*.
