merging documents in Word 2000
Imagine you have a form - prints fine - then you load the form back into the printer and repint it using a data file (.doc) previously created and formatted to fit the form - Does anyone know of a way to do this in Word 2000 in one step without reprinting the form???

Not real sure but ...

Two solutions come to mind.
1) Look at mail/merge functions. This lets you create a form, then 'feed' it a data file (a .DOC as I remember) to fill the various fields and values that change. It is used primarily for mass mailings (notice to ALL customers or all customers with given select criteria).
2) Creat the form with Fields (Insert, Field) wherever you have a 'date entry' value. When done, protect the document (I use no password so I don't need to remember, ifyou us a pw, be sure to write, difficult at best to change if you loose it. Save then Open. Fill in the fields an Print. We do something similar to this to get forms for db update requests. Make the protected form a template (store in your templates area). The File, New, <select template> loads the form.

Hi,

I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but why are you using Word to do this? Access is a much better tool to collect information and then print that information out on a report (paper form).

Go to Tools>Options and choose the Print tab. Select the check box for "Print data only for forms". Now when you print the form, only the data will be printed on your pre-printed form.

Since you rejected all those answers, why don't you just close your question?
