Message appending in Exchange?

I am using the Internet Mail Service Extension (Imsext.dll) to append a legal notice to all email leaving our office. I followed the instructions, added the registry key, etc. It’s working, but the message is right smack up against the last lineof the email. Is there a way I can add some space before the append? I can’t put ‘returns’ in the text string, and I don’t want to just put a lot of spaces first, because it will adjust to fit the window, and won’t be consistent or even.
