Microsoft office 2000 and 2003

I installed 2003 on my computer but was unable to activate it as it was my housemates. I then tried to uninstall it to get back to my microsoft office 2000. but it didn't work and didn't let me open any of my files. I then tried to restore my computer to before I installed it but this also didnt work. now my files dont open. i dont have the disk as it came installed on my computer but i do have the installation key. what should i do? please help!! i desperately need it to do my work. cheers. xxx

Without the 2000 installation disk, you won't be able to to a Help--Detect and Repair.

Why not download OpenOffice and open (and edit) your files with it?

hello
i think you are need to make some modifications in system registry

thats mean a lot of risk

so i prefare to make a backup from your data and reinstall 2003 from an original copy or trusted copy

MS doesn't give much insight on fixing the problem but it does mention it.

I'd say your best bet would be to find someone that has on Office 2000 disc (of the same version -- Pro, Standard, whatever), uninstall every version of Office on your computer, and reinstall 2000 using your product key. (you still have a legal license, just make sure it's the SAME version or the key won't work)
