        error in tip aug 6

        by passwordchanged ·

        In reply to Word-specific questions

        “before 2002 if you wanted to change the format of 10 chapter headings scattered throughout your document, you would have to find and change each one individually. ”

        Not correct. Back in Word 6 you could update styles across a document and in 97 and 2000 you can do search and replaces of styles.

        Word X on Mac-FIND & wildcards

        by rick_from_bc ·

        In reply to Word-specific questions

        Word X.1.4, Mac G4, OS X.2.6, Very experienced user.
        Discovered that the wildcard function in Find & Replace is
        severely limited relative to Word 2001. The curly brackets {}
        are not recognized, i.e. “a{2,12}” should find and highlight
        strings of “a” where there are between 2 and 12 a’s in a
        row. But the search finds each individual “a” and highlights
        one “a” at a time.
        QUESTION: is it only me, or is it a bug?

          In reply to Excel values

          Go to Tools -> Options -> Calculation -> select Save External Linked Values for your worksheet. When you open your file, click “No” when asked if you want to update the workbook with changes made to the other workbook.

          Check the formulas box to view formulas – as far as macros, you can see the list if you choose “run macros”

        by onelap8 ·

        In reply to Access-specific questions

        I have an access form where I need to insert the current date and time into two text boxes (restime & resdate)when a command button (cmdres)is clicked. I know this can be done with VB but I have no idea where to begin any ideas?

          Set Date and Time in VB

          by dbwriter ·

          In reply to Inserting date and time from a command button

          Create an “On Click” event.
          Then set resdate equal to Date and restime equal to Time:

          Private Sub cmdres_Click()
          Me!restime = Time
          Me!resdate = Date
          End Sub

          Each time the command button is clicked, the current date and time will appear.

          Using VB to set time and date

          by eisley_rodrigues ·

          In reply to Inserting date and time from a command button

          In your form design view, right on cmdRes, then select “Build Event”, a pop up box will appear. select “Code Builder”

          The code for your application will look like this

          Private Sub cmdRes_Click()

          [resTime].text = Now()
          [resDate].text = Now()

          End Sub

          Back in design view, you can select the spefic formatting for the date and time fields you have just created.

          Hope this helps

      When a date is put into a field and you tab over to the next field over, the field with the date changes to pound signs.

      Min/Max Across Multiple Sheets

      by waresfamily ·

      In reply to Microsoft Office suite Q&A

      Is it possible to use a function/macro to find the maximum value in multiple sheets in a single workbook?

      • #3211079

        Don’t see why not

        by nickrusso ·

        In reply to Min/Max Across Multiple Sheets

        Try syntax =MAX(sheet1![range],sheet2![range],…).

        Dont’t forget the bang! after the sheet name, or just click and select the sheet and range you want, comma, then repeat for next area.
