Microsoft Outlook Datafile – Keeps on crashing and gets corrupted

    by support481 ·

    Hi,

We have an issue for quite some time now about an account that has its outlook datafile corrupted. The outlook file itself crashes first and then corrupts the datafile. What we did so far is:
    – Repair outlook datafile
    – Made new profile
    – Repair Microsoft 365
    – Uninstall > Reinstall Microsoft 365
    – Uninstalled Microsoft 365 > Reinstalled Microsoft 2021 PRO
    – Updated Registry to 100gb (the user has more than 50gb of datafile)
    – We also reduced sync down to 6 months worth of emails
    – Disabled Exchange Mode (this doesnt use the outlook datafile but the incoming/outgoing is terribly slow)
    – Re-enabled Exchange Mode (crashes again)

We’re not sure if this is an account issue or a windows issue. We’d like your thoughts on this matter.

    Thank you.

      Things to try:
      1. Give user a new PC/laptop Same?
      2. Tell user to move (not copy!) his mails to personal databases, each no larger than 10 GB. Compress what’s left.
      3. Tell user to store all large attachements outside the Outlook database somewhere in a folder and delete them from the mails. Compress what’s left
      4. Tell the senders to send links to a share in stead of sending large documents.
      5. Contact Microsoft support.

      Unclear:
      – What you mean with “updating registry”.
      – If it isn’t an Exchange issue.

        1. It’s a new PC hasnt been a year though
        2. They are set to auto archive the emails older than 6 months so everything should be on a separate folder online.
        5. Microsoft support didnt help much, everything they recommended we should do, we already done it.

Updating registry- there’s a bypass where you can edit the registry that should exceed its limitations from 50gb up to 100gb
Exchange issue- we’re not really sure if it’s an issue with the email account or the PC itself.
