Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 - Saving a state and locking it down

By chai714 ·
I'm working with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and here's the situation:

We have hundreds of "Group X" employees who don't have admin rights therefore than can not install software or do any testing. I am working on a solution using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 to allow them to do this. Here is my issue: Is there a way to configure Virtual PC 2007 so that will revert back to its saved state even after the "Group X" employee made all kinds of changes? For example, if they installed games, browsers, or other software I would want the Virtual PC to revert back to the state I originally created on each reboot AND I don't want them to be able to save it in the state in which they left it.

Try the Close option in Settings. Select your virtual machine, and select settings. Close will allow you to configure the end of a session to delete changes automatically and turn off the machine. This can be done with or without a prompt. This article explains a's for VPC 2004, but same feature in 07:
Or check out Steady State...assuming it is a Windows OS:
Hope this helps. =]
