    Microsoft Windows 10

So I am stuck in a new user created by windows after I updated it while all my files are in another one. I can see them when I go into my hard drive and select the “users” file but when I try to switch users it doesn’t appear as an option. They both have the same name and pin code that I first thought my files were deleted. I also log in automatically to this one when I restart my computer. Is there anything I can do to make my old user the default one? I suspect it might have to do with software registry settings because I was editing them before this all happened.

Keeps the Files Structure Intact and in the users control.

What I would suggest you do here is open the unit and change the Name of the User Account on what is now your New User Account and then with that set to Admin copy the files into it.

You might be able to delete the new Update to 10 but that is fraught with problems and if you managed to mess up this update it is quite likely you will mess up the removal as well and run the risk of deleting all your Data.

Another suggestion is to grab a External Drive and copy in Plain Data to it from the old Account then copy the data back to the new account. You may need to Take Ownership of the files and Windows Help will tell you how to do this just type in where Cortania shown beside the Start Pearl “How to Take Ownership of Files” and follow those directions.
