I am currently on a project to migrate from Netware 5.1 file servers to Win2K file servers. My big issue currently is how permissions were set on the Netware servers. As usual, users were granted permissions to folders many levels deep in the directory structure. Netware allows the users to traverse the directory structure in order to gain access to their resources. When data and permissions are migrated to Win2K, the permissions are intact, but the users don’t have rights to the parent folders to get to the directories they need. So, my question is; does anyone know of a tool which will examine rights on a NT based server and ensure that permissions are granted to the parent folders automatically? Know of anything close? Have any ideas?
