I have Two client one with windows nt 4.0 users and Lotus notes R5 as email system.and the other with Windows 2000 Active directory forest and Exchange 2000 as the email system.

Now here's the thing.
This two clients want's to become one company and migrate all the user account and mail boxes into one single new domain. With Windows 2000 ADvacnce server and Exchange 2000 Server.

My concern is how to migrate this users and mail boxes into a new single domain.
and How much willbe the impact on users if we do some solution.

More details if requested.

Exchange 2000 intergrates easily with Lotus Notes Novell Groupwise or Nove Netware. You can use the TCP/IP or IPX/SPX connectors to intergrate both systems. As far as migration, all new user accounts created by AD [re users from non W2K domain into the W2K domain will be given exchange email address. If those users want to keep their lotus email addresses, the lotus email system has to be kept running.

note: keeping lotus email system running so employees from the old company can use their old email addresses isn't such a problem except in maintenance for two email systems. Not something that is cost effective in the long run. Since most Lotus email users probably are worried about contact & data loss during migration, xfer of contact lists, notes, whatever kept in Lotus to a folder created for them in exchange [or a public one] should solve their concerns. Once they have collected their infothey wish to save onto exchange, all individual users have to do is notify contacts of an email addresses change and start using exchange. Once all have migrated to exchange, the lotus email system can be decommisioned. .
