Anyone know of a script or tools to automate switching thousands of NT,win2k and XP machines from an nt4.0 domain into a Win2k Domain (AD)?
We also need to change the computer/hostnames to US(macaddress)at the same time. example: us0080125c4525 (wehad very limited budget) Thanks -Bill

The Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) can migrate large amounts of machines from a NT4 domain to a Win2K AD-enabled domain. This is the tool you want. IT has a GUI interface, and you just select the machines to migrate, click ADD buttons, and they get moved to the AD domain. This tool is a part of the Win2K Resource Kit (Professional and Server versions). So, you need one of the Kits. Microsoft does provide some of the tools for free, but this is not one of the free ones.
So, get the Resource Kit, and run ADMT.EXE which is the file you need.

For changing all those names, I can’t think of a good method right now, but someone else will step up and have an answer.
