I worked for a company as the MIS Manager. 11 Months later I was promoted to MIS Manager of 2 Facilities. With this came a group from the 2nd facility that I had nothing but problems with, and had not authority to fire. I butted heads the entire time. I was given a 6 month review, which I passed with flying colors and given a decent raise, but current management agreed that they had not given me the support that was needed to manage the other facility, but yet they did not to help the future. 2Days later I was called in to HR and was told that they were hiring a MIS Dir. However, they wanted to make sure that I understood this would in no way change my position title or pay. My daily work might change, but not much. As the new person would be more of the Business Management side. I was asked to put together a job description for this person, but was told that I was not qualified to apply. So I declined to put the job description together for them. I was then shown and ad that they had put together, depicting my current job. I complained about this asking if they were firing me. I was once again confirmed that no they were not, and changed the ad to a more different but yet alike position. My boss came to me several weeks later and told me they had offered the position to someone. I asked, male or female. His comment was, Male of course. There was only one female and he thought she was too old. Two days after the new person was hired, an email was found on the printer and given to me. In this email, which was from my old boss, it was introducing the new guy as their new “MIS Mgr”. Two months later, they call me in and tell me they are eliminating my position. During those two months, all my job responsibilities were taken away, and I was not included in dept meetings, etc. I worked 60-70 hour weeks before this person came on board. I’m considering taking this to an attorney. Your thoughts?
