Modem Troubles

By nagaru ·
Hi. I have a problem with an AOpen modem that is driving me nuts! The problem is that after 1 hour of connection, the modem closes the connection on it's own. I have looked at the internal Modem settings, System settings and everything I can think of to check. Everything is set so that you have to manually close the connection (NO timeout lengths active).

Would someone here have any suggestions as to what could be the problem(s)?

Thanks you in advance

Earl

This usually happens when you are downloading stuffs and at the same time surfing. Specially when Kazaa is open. The modem cannot cope with huge load it disconnect itself. This is just one of the reasons.

It wouldn't hurt to run the adaware product from lavasoft.de either. It cleans up spyware. Good Luck!

It is possible that youre ISP is disconnecting you. NTL do it after two hours, and some other providers here (England) shut you out quicker than that. Might I suggest you download Gozilla from Gozilla .com. Its an excellent download manager which will continue a download as soon as you re-connect, so you dont lose any information. Good Luck!!
