Monitor internal email

By tzutzasialbu ·
Hi folks,

Do you know how could I monitor internal monitor since there is a lot of sensitive data going around?
We use an application for outgoing and incoming email but nothing for internal traffic.

Thank you.

You need a third party product to do this for you.
For example:
http://www.mimesweeper.com/products/msw/internalemail.aspx

http://www.surfcontrol.com/Default.aspx?id=762&mnuid=1.2.1.2&nocache=6%2f1%2f2006+3%3a57%3a49+PM&promocode=mseprd

good luck!

Assuming Exchange - You could have two domains and a small SMTP server. Users have an internal and external address. The GAL has the internal addresses, both addresses are associated with the one AD account. <ail to internal address gets routed through this external SMTP server with small 3rd party program running on it (like say GFI mail essentials or similar). Mail then gets routed back to the main server. I say external SMTP server (you could do this on 1 server) but that's not recommended due to TS nighmares if it goes pear!
