monitoring pc by network

By chonaq ·
my pc connected to the network in the office through LAN connection. I use other pc to store my files so my friend could collect the file from it (share folder in other PC).
I need a program/software so I could monitor my PC or other PC (that I used as store pc), if any user has collecting data from the store pc without my permit, or any user who try and has collect data from my own pc.
is there any software like atelierwebremotecommander, that I can monitor other pc or user from my pc.

What about access rights?

Is it not better to set up the user logins and access rights so that you do not have to worry about who has access to the PC?

If you plan to have a port open in the firewall for someone to access files inside your network, it would be better to have a proper server for that purpose with login security and proper logging of connections.

You might be able to install a Linux distribution like Ubuntu on your PC and get your friend to connect using Windows Secure Copy or WinSCP which uses SSH - Secure Shell. It is easier to set up than FTP.

If you want to try Linux first without overwriting the PC operating system, download Ubuntu from or order the free CD. The Ubuntu Live CD allows you to load it first in the memory and try the look and feel of it. You may then decide to install it.
