Mouse creates shortcuts

By kevin7frg ·
I was getting issues on a laptop with XP and I ran a repair. After the repair, the double click on the mouse only creates a shortcut. Any ideas??

Heard of a similar issue...

But it happened when double clicking the Internet Explorer 7 shortcut.
If that is your issue, rather than uninstalling IE7 and going back to IE6, there is a registry fix that may help:

Or... if your issue is a little different, perhaps that reg file holds the key to a resolution. Download, extract and then rather than running it, right click and select Edit to view the changes it makes.

CAUTION: Making incorrect changes to the system registry may make your computer unusable. Before making any changes to the Windows Registry, make a valid and good copy of the Registry and verify that you can restore to it easily if need be.

I hope this helps.
