Is it possible, without deleting one’s email account, to move a mailbox back to exchange 2000 from exchange 2007? We have an issue where a technician’s account was used to test the migration process from exchange 2000 to exchange 2007. We need to restore his 2000 mailbox, as there is an issue with security and such. I have seen it, where an admin can delete the account, recreate it, and then relink it. However, after this happens, then the permissions on the user’s network drive go haywire, and they can’t open anything.
I know Exchange 2007 “doesn’t support migrating back to 2000 from across forests”, but is there a less painless way than described above?
