move saved email's to Office XP

i have a new machine running Office XP. want to move all saved emails from "old" machine running Office 2000 Professional (Outlook 2000 SP3)...is there an easy way to retain/move the saved emails when moving to a new machine with different Office version??

The easiest would be on your old system to open Outlook, Go to File, Import/Export, Export to a File, choose PST format, select the root of your mailbox (or individual folders as you wish); check the box to include subfolders, then export everything to a file on your hard drive. Copy the file onto a CD, go to your new system, then reverse the process and import the PST file into your new system.

It is also the best way to back up your mailbox for archiving.
