We are going through the process to eliminating older hyper-v servers that are running Windows Server 2003 and Windows server 2008. One of the Windows Server 2008 has a number of applications that need to be maintained. If I have all of the data on a hyper-v vm on the machines D: drive. Can can I move that Data drive over to another hyper-v vm on the same host? The system I am moving the data drive from is a Windows Server 2008 and I am wanting to move the D: drive from that server to a Windows Server 2012 on the same vm host. To complicate things a little, if I try to use the hyper-v storage manager to move the data, it reports there is not enough space on the destination server, but I don’t have any additional drive space to alot to the Windows 2012 server
