    Moving exchange 2k….

    I need to move exchange 2k from one w2k server to another. How can I tranfer everything without recreating?

    If possible, I’d also like to move all user accountant.

    These two servers contain different domain names. I’m switching from company.local to company.com.

      There is no easy answer to your question.
      You need to state if these companies are currently running exchange 2000 in AD.

      If this is the case you must install a new server then you can use a utility such as emerge to moved your mail boxes from one to another.

      If you are not running an AD domain and you are using exchange 5.5 you can extract the mail boxes via pst of the (ADC) Active Directory Connector.

      Best wishes…if done correctly you will find it very easy.

      To clarify…

      Both computers are running exchange 2k on w2k stations in AD.

      Never heard of emerge?

      Does microsoft have a untility similar to ADMS (Active Directly Migration ?)

      You can add another server into the Storage Group and move the mailboxes to the new server. The utility in the previous post is Exmerge and can be found on Exchange CD…great tool. Microsoft to my knowledge does not has an Exchange migration toolbut vendors like Quest and NETIQ have some very slick tools, depending on the user count you need to move they may be worth checking out.
