Moving from Word 97 to Word XP

I have two computers, one running Office 97 under Windows 95 (yes, 95!) and a new one running Office XP under Windows XP. I want to transfer NORMAL.DOT and CUSTOM.DIC, as well as all my .DOC files from the Win95 to the WinXP machines. What’s the best way to do that. Are Word 97 documents compatible with Word XP? Can I just use a floppy to move the NORMAL.DOT and CUSTOM.DIC files over? Any advice would be appreciated.
