Moving Profiles after upgrade

By bradmyers ·
We recently upgraded to Active Directory by installing NT4 as a BDC on a new server then promoting to PDC then upgrading to win2k and AD. All of our users profiles are still being stored on our old PDC (now a DC in the same domain). We want to ditch our old PDC completely. What is the easiest way to copy those profiles from the old machine to the new DC and make the appropriate profile path change in AD? Aren't there some scripts or little apps that do this automatically?

Moving Profiles after upgrade

by BasicIT In reply to Moving Profiles after upg ...

I don't have a whole lot of experiance with W2K AD but I did in a similar case was to use SCOPY (scopy [dest] /o /a /s)to move all users Home Directories to the new server and then I updated all profiles to point the new location
\\Simpledc1\Profiles\%username%
This was for a one server office with twenty users.
