Mozambique: The Paradox between Peace and a Kalashnikov-decorated Flag!

    Locked

    by joaquim.docastelo ·

It is true that Mozambique is a country founded on armed violence–call it war of independence, war for democracy or international aid war (supportr to ZANU in Zimbabwe, NRM in Uganda and ANC in South Africa–where other people’s lives are at stake, we are dealing with violence.

But to use a gun, particularly an assault weapon (KALASHNIKOV) is utterly despicable. I know that exposure to guns can elicit agressive and violent behaviour and I am writing a lengthy article on this matter to be submitted to the Mozambican Parliament, asking for the removal of Kalashnikov from Mozambique’s national flag. Can anyone please contribute with useful articles or information regarding the relationship between exposure to guns and violence? Everyone’s contribution is appreciated in anticipation.
