I have on a report, name and surname fields to be printed on the address area.
I would like to organise these two fields in such a way that the name and surname are at the same distance whatever the size of the name or surname is. e.g. a long surname will fit in the field without overlapping on the name field.

Joining the FirstName and Surname fields within your query will give you one value to display rather than two. This can easily be done with the Build button (available by right-clicking the Field value in the query design window).

      eg.
      Name: [Table1]![FirstName] & ” ” & [Table1]![Surname]
