MS Access 2000 Text Box errors

by boblewis . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

I am a novice at MS Access 2000.

I have a basic large spreadsheet (Excel) 55 columns of data that I imported to Access 2000 and broke up into 7 smaller tables all with a one to one relationship.

I made a form based on all tables for data entry. I established a text box control for my primary key for each table. It is the site number for telecommunications cell sites which is a unique number/letter entry. When I tab from the primary key (site #)field entry I receive an error message “The value you entered isn’t valid for this field. For example you may have entered text in a numberic field or a number that is larger thean the field size permits.”

Question — How do I take care of this error? Can a text box control be designated as the primary key?

Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.
