MS access error

By MarkusHurier ·
Tags: Windows, Software
Hi to all.
I have Windows 7 in my laptop inside which I use MS Office 10. I have created some database files for my clients in MS Access. Now when they try to open those database files to modify the data something stops them to go further. And that is an error something like this: "Microsoft Access has detected corruption in this file."
They have send those database files back to me. Now I can't make them again. How shall I fix this error from those database files? Is there anyone who can take me out from this problem. Thank you!

Re: Fix Access database error

by techsamp In reply to MS access error

To fix this error message and access the data stored in your database file, you may try the following steps:

1. Create a blank database = ?C Recover_db.mdb?
2. Close and exit.
3. Create another blank database and navigate to Modules Tab
4. Click on New and Paste the code provided below:

Dim db As DAO.Database

Set db = DAO.OpenDatabase("C:Corrupt_db.mdb")

Dim xtable As TableDef

For Each xtable In db.TableDefs

If Mid(xtable.Name, 1, 4) <> "MSys" Then

rSQL = "SELECT * INTO [" & xtable.Name & "] IN " & _

"'C:Recover_db.mdb'" & _

" FROM [" & xtable.Name & "]"

db.Execute rSQL

End If

Next xtable

MsgBox "Process Complete."

End Function

5. Go to Menu Tools, select References, and scroll down and Select "Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library"
6. Click OK
7. In Module Window Click on Recover_db() Function
8. Check database file names, after proper setup and press the F5 button
9. Tables and data from corrupt database is recovered to new database

Another simple method to resolve the issue (as stated in the error message) is by using an inbuilt repair utility known as ?Compact and Repair.? However, if the inbuilt repair utility does not work to repair the database, then you must go for a third party utility to fix it. One such third party tool that worked for me to fix similar problem in MS Access 2010 version, can be downloaded from here: http://accessdatabaserepairsoftware.blogspot.com/

Good Luck !

Have you tried to import the data inside a new database file? If not then try to do it. It could solve your problem. http://www.access.recoverytoolbox.com/
Have you checked those database files in your MS Access program? May there is a problem with your clients' program. Try to open those database files in some other MS Access.
And let me know what happens? http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/access/155-ms-access-trouble
