Ms Access Reports-Repeat Field

By muraliget ·
I am using Ms Access 2002. I have made a table having 9 fields. In that Name of the student in column1 (First Field) and marks scored in next 8 fields as marks01..marks02..to...mraks08.

Then I have generated one report from the table for which page set up given as A4 portrait. The report was generated page1 & 2.

First page containing Name of the student, Marks01, Marks02, & Marks 03.

Second Page shows Marks 04, Marks05, Marks06, Marks07 & marks08.

My question is
1. Is it possible to repeat the First field automatically in 2nd page ? In the second page I want to get Name of the student, marks 04,Marks05,Marks06,Marks07 & Marks08.

2. If so what are the steps to be taken for getting a report like that in Ms Access ?

3. In excel it is possible by going to sheet tab and giving parameters for columns and rows repeat sections. But in access I have tried a lot by giving groups/ repeating group headers etc. Unfortunately I have not got my required result. Is there any way out? The above example is indicative only.

Thanks

Student Name

by arkman In reply to Ms Access Reports-Repeat ...

Hi
Put the Student name in the page header and then it will repeat on every page ... if you are creating for one student at a time.

If you are doing multiple reports for multiple students then have a student name header and on the Properties/Format for this header make sure that Repeat Section = yes.
Both of these work in 2003 and 2007
