MS Access to MS SQL Replication

By maxwood ·
We have about 70 remote locations that run MS Access (2K) and we want to sync/replicate with a central MS SQL database. Can this be done and can someone please point me to more information?

Thanks.

No MS Access Info

Thanks for the reply, but at the link I did not see any information regarding SQL & MS Access. The articles only referenced SQL to SQL publishing.

Closer, But Still Not SQL Server & MS Access

Peconet, Thanks again. Those docuements relate to Access Replication which is only between MS Access systems -- not MS Access and SQL Server. As a matter of fact, we run MS Access replication. It is a great service, but really limited when compared to SQL Server. That is why we want to find a solution that will allow us to sync/replicate directly between MS Access & MS SQL Server.

Thanks anyway, though.

Yes. Replication Between Access & SQL Can Be Done

by maxwood In reply to MS Access to MS SQL Repli ...

We have found since posting this a few days ago that MS SQL 2000 supported the feature of replication between Access & MS SQL. It apparantly was dropped in MS SQL 2005. It is not clear if it can be done in 2005, but on the surface it may -- just not using the same feature set. In 2005 MS increased their support for Oracle and some of that feature set may be available to support other "heterogenous" databases.

Any other ideas and comments would be appreciated.
