Being in the Finance domain, I feel like what Mike said is correct. Why re-write something in .NET or Java that the business can create in Excel.
Now the question is,
Why doesn't this way of designing caught on? Or has it already caught on?
What is your opinion on letting business people developer their logic in Excel and we (IT) just take it as one of the components? It wouldn't be perfect, but nobody creates perfect code anyway, and, I really hate to learn how to do all those finance calculations.....
