MS Front Page2000 under XP Home

I’m running FP2000 on a new Dell with XP Home. It was fine for a week, now when I click the desktop shortcut, the screen flashes and the desktop returns. I get no errors. I deleted FP, reinstalled it OK. I started it from the start/all programs menu and it worked. I then created a shortcut on the desktop, double clicked it and I get sent back to the desktop. I tried using the MS repair option, same end result. The other MS Office 2000 apps work fine as do the other apps.
Do I have registry errors? Bad HD blocks?
The Dell is 1.9Ghz, 512mb ram, 40G HDD, 2 weeks old.
Any help is appreciated.
