So I came across this while browsing news,

All I can say is, PFFFFT!
Anyone else see a good reason or two to not use a security bundle from the OS vendor? This takes my security suite loathing to one new level. Security in layers, and differing vendors helps to make those layers real. A single piece of malware can not only disable A BIG NAME AV product component, but it can allow its self past the firewall and IPS, bypassing all the protection in one fell swoop. An different vendors IPS may have been less targeted, or more sensitive and prevented the exploit to begin with, and a different vendors firewall may have caught suspicious outgoing traffic. Bundling all these products together makes for more security holes in the security software, and greater difficulty selecting best of breed.
On the plus side; its free, it SHOULD run well even on nettops, and its free…
