Ms Office on iPhone 4
LockedRecently, November 2014, Cory Bohon wrote an article on the new Office app version for iOS. The apps now give access to what Microsoft refers to as “core capabilities.” The device actually used by Cory must have beeb an iPad. The reason for this statement is the difference between the visual layout shown in the article and the layout I observed on an iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2.
More importantly, the description of the experience of syncing using Dropbox is very accurate…except for one detail. On the iPhone 4, any attempt to actually save to a Dropbox folder sends the app into the ozone and an infinite loop of gear/wheel/busy signal turning with the message “connecting…”, which never happens.
There is something else. The Word app appears to need to “convert” any files imported from a source other than OneDrive before editing.
