MS outlook unable configure yahoo a/c

By ashu2077 ·
I have setup MS outlook 97 to connect to my yahoo a/c. The connection to yahoo is done through a shareware prg. I am able to receive email from my yahoo a/c into MS Outlook 97, but when sending the email from MS OUTLOOK 97 it fails.
The email errors out with the following error.

"Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject:
Sent: 9/14/03 10:18 AM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'ashu2077@yahoo.com' on 9/14/03 10:19 AM
No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient."

However outlook express works without any issues. Both email prg access the same shareware prg to connect to yahoo. The shareware prg is called YAHOOPOPs.i can provide the log from yahoopop if required.

please advice on resolving this issue.
thanx in advance.
ash

Yahoo.com no longer supports free smtp for sending emails by remote access programs. You can still send via logging into yahoo or you can opt to pay for their remote sending service.

That is true. Yahoo does not support free smtp, however the shareware prg YahooPOPs is the work around that. Sending and receiving emails works just fine with outlook express. Only sending email fails with MS OUTLOOK 97, but recieving email from yahoo in MS OUTLOOK 97 is not a problem.
awaiting your reply.
thanx

YahooPOPs!/Windows 0.5 has been released. This release is being released as a "Full Version" release only. An upgrade version is not being made available because of significant changes in the 3rd party libraries that YahooPOPs! uses.

The file is available for download at http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=2

This version introduces the following changes:

# First release from a common code base for all platforms. This will make it easier for use to make release for various platforms around the same time frame.
# Help file now is minimal. This is to reduce the same of the distribution. The details are now being maintained on the website instead.
+ We have dropped XML4C and adopted libxml as the XML library for parsing the localization.xml file. This will make the release file smaller in size. Also, libxml is almost available on all Linux systems.
+ OpenSSL upgraded to version 0.9.7.a (Release binaries downloaded from the libxml website)
+ Danish locale support added
! Proxy bug fixed (Thanks to Victor Morilla)
! Proxy authentication bug fixed (Thanks to Victor Morilla)
! Some memory leaks fixed (Thanks to Victor Morilla)
! "Enable UIDL" fix in reading the YahooPOPs rc file on Linux (Thanks to Tony Quan, Ken Liu & Jason)
! A few bug reports have been fixed:
- Incorrect display on UI that "Deleting emails" when there are no emails to delete

>> The CVS structure will be reorganized around the time this release is being made. The new structure will *not* contain sources for any third party libraries. All these will be made available as separate files that can be downloaded from the website (but not from YahooPOPs! CVS)

Thank you all for the information. I have resolved the problem using technet.com.
The problem was not of yahoopop software, the issue was caused by a setting that was not enabled in MS OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

Yahoo mail service requires that any pop3 login used use secured connection, on checking the box in the account setting to use secure login everything worked like magic.

Now i am able to send and recv yahoo mails directly from MS OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

I appreciates everybodies input on this matter.
regards ash.
