MS Outlook XP not shut down Porperly

By paul.stinson ·
I have ugraded several systems to MS Office XP. I now have users complaining that they get a error statign the outlook was not shut down properly. I have attempted to reinstall Office and to create new PST folders. I get the same errors. I have searched the tech notes and can not find a resolution to this growing problem.

does the size of the PST matter??

OutLook Hooked to Office = Securty Prob To Me

by DRVTACH In reply to MS Outlook XP not shut do ...

I would never allow Office to have instant access to Outlook or should I say Outlook Has Complete access to Office. But?
OK this is the little I know.
These errors usually appears if the OST or PST file you are using is:
- Unavailable
- Protected with file permissions
- On a share on a server and the network is down [office connected through outlook]
- Corrupt
Outlook if used Must be connected to a server properly or errors will always pop up.
To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the local computer. You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe tools to verify file integrity. More information about these errors online."
Just remaking PST folders will not help unless Outlook is configured to a mail server.
Hope this helps a little. I dont allow theses programs to ever access any server so my knowledge is not what it could be.
Have fun Bill MacG
