First thing to check...

Go to the Format menu and select Paragraph.
If on the Indents & Spacing tab the drop-down for Spacing says 'Double,' change it to 'Single' and click OK.

These steps also apply for Word 2002 (XP)

Wha? Now it's 10 -13 times?

sounds like a sticky Enter key or it's time for a complete uninstall/reinstall of Word.

Does this happen when you type in a TXT document outside of Word?

What happens when you hold down the Shift key while hitting Enter?

not working...

Billy, it happens only when i type in Word doc. it can't be a case of sticky keyboard. im using a brand new Dell vostro 1510 laptop. i guess, i better re-install MS Office. hopefully that should solve the problem.

Before you reinstall

MS Word may have been corrupted.
Do a search for and rename the file. Restart Word and a new file will be created.
